How can Property Services help ?

The City Council is the single largest owner of property in Birmingham and holds the largest land estate of any UK local authority, extending to 26,000 acres. 

Property Services is responsible for leading the Corporate and Strategic Property function for the Council and the implementation of the Corporate Property Strategy 2018 – 2024.

Our core function include the delivery of:

  • key strategic property based development and regeneration schemes
  • income from the commercial property portfolio
  • fit for purpose, safe operational assets
  • Asset valuations on behalf of the city
  • the sale of surplus property assets to support front line services.

Our Teams

Investment Property Management

The team manages the Council’s commercial property portfolio comprising more than 5000 individual property interests and around 4500 tenants.

Property Valuation & Sales

The Sales team deals with the disposal of commercial and non-commercial sites and properties on the open market through both Informal Tender and Auction. The range of property offered to the market is varied, including residential, former care homes, schools and libraries.

The Property Strategy Delivery Team provide direct support to the Property Services division through commissioning, analysing and monitoring BCC Capital Receipts, managing the logistics and provision of assets incl. IT Hardware/Software and coordinate the divisions performance data.....
